Grand Hotel Vesuvio - Sorrento

We had a view of the sea and countryside from our hotel room. The room was clean and the shuttle that ran from the hotel to the center of Sorrento had several time options and was included in the price. Overall, a great hotel.

unheated swimming pool, no information at all e.g. menu and cost/local bus service,no overhang to balcony from room above, reliance on bus due to location, some areas neglected e.g. garden seats all inclusive features makes it feel like a 3 star

Close proximity to centre of sorrento with free shuttle bus running to and from sorrento at fairly regular times. Room we occupied was huge with terrace and views across bay of Naples and Vesuvius. Another plus was underground car parking for free.

The Hotel had a restaurant which catered for huge tour groups which was fine but the restaurant food was very very basic and felt we were at a dinner dance not a restaurant. Not very cheap either to eat. Suggest you take shuttle and go into sorrento for dinner instead - better food and wine for about same price. The hair dryer was attached to the wall and was like a long tube which my wife found very inefficient.

Room had a great view with a cute little balcony. Desk was open late, so we could check in at 1am. Used the shuttle bus to get in/out of Sorrento, and drove to the amalfi coast. Worked out well for us. Breakfast was fine - typical italian hotel breakfast. Convenient, free parking at the hotel was a huge plus.

Excellent pool, good size rooms, helpful staff.

Breakfast was poor, every day the same, without any vegetables. During our stay they didn't serve breakfast on the terrace which is very beautiful. We ate one dinner in the hotel, was very poor, although the menu it was a la carte, seemed to be made for groups

The room was large, clean and cool. I also liked the terrace overlooking the bay of Naples.

Receptionist (male) was cold and unhelpful. My friend innocently asked if there was a view from the room. She was quickly told that we had booked a "basic" room. In other words, what did we expect for €110? He had an attitude which would not be acceptable in a hotel in Ireland.

The pool is fantastic! A quiet hotel at the start of June - which suited fine. The hotel guests were mostly in the 50-65yr bracket. The shuttle bus was reliable.

Not a lot really. Would have been nice if breakfast ran later than 10!

The views, the pool, the fact it was so spacious in the rooms and the hotel it self. I loved the van service, which was a must

Breakfast could have been more fresh fruits. Restaurant could have had more choices.

The.swimming pool,gym,and the cleaning staff were lovely.

The pool area's lunch menu was not the best.ie a steak sandwich was 2 slices of bread wit a wafer thin cut of roast beef.

ants in the room,not just ours.we booked 3 rooms and our sea view was not the full view like the other rooms we booked,we were tucked in the corner siding onto a balcony wall with partial sea view.

The room was very spacious and the sea view was wonderful and worth specifying when booking. The shuttle bus to the centre was very good and necessary.The pool is excellent.

We booked bed and breakfast which was fine, but if you choose to eat dinner at the hotel, it is very expensive indeed, 30 euro per person not including wine, which we felt for a buffet was excessive. It is worth getting the shuttle bus into the centre where you can get better value.
